Lex Kress
Owner | Wedding Planner

When I envision the job of my dreams, this is it – planning weddings. From the moment I got engaged I knew this is what I had to do over and over again. And since I believe in the nuptials of marriage I knew I couldn’t do it over and over again for myself, so that’s how Old, New, Borrowed & Blue Wedding and Event Planning was born.

I graduated from the U of R with a double major in Marketing and Finance. I’ve worked in a vast variety of marketing roles from a Community Involvement Co-ordinator where I planned numerous sponsored events, to working in the field of Advertising where I had the opportunity to put my creativity to use; commercials, print ads, website campaigns and radio spots were all a part of the repertoire.

Most recently I have been working in a combined Finance and Marketing/Sales role where I’ve gained tremendous skills in learning how to budget, analyze finances, market and sell while providing exceptional customer service. I truly believe the customer is always right (even if they are wrong!) It’s your day and you can cry if you want to!

Modeling and acting have played a huge role in my life for more than 10 years and through that I have been able to express myself artistically. I want to combine all of my experience and expertise to give you the WOW factor you’ve always dreamed of on your wedding day…

I believe your wedding day should be all about you and your spouse–to-be. Whether you have an extravagant budget or a more modest one, we will assist you in planning the wedding of your dreams. Your wedding will be as truly unique as you are so as to never be replicated.

Cassandra Bradshaw
Owner | Wedding Planner

In planning my own wedding I found a passion that I wasn’t ready to give up. So after my wedding was said and done I continued to help friends plan theirs. I adore researching new and unique ideas. I decided to become a wedding planner after more and more people told me that I should pursue it as a career; even the DJ from my wedding told me that I should be doing this full-time! Once Lex confessed her love for planning the idea took off and here we are.

I hold a degree in Business Administration from the U of R with a major in Marketing. My most recent work experience is as a Marketing Analyst.

My inspiration comes from all places. I’ve always been interested in all things relating to fashion, interior design and architecture. I absolutely love travelling and adore experiencing different cultures and customs.

I’m so excited to share all the ideas I’ve been gathering with you. I want to find ideas that fit your personality so your wedding reflects who you are. I also thrive on finding fabulous do-it-yourself ideas. I loved creating my own birdcage veil, invitations and boutonnieres, it reflected me and that was really important for our big day. In the end, my wedding turned out spectacular and as an added bonus I saved a heap of money too. I love to roll up my sleeves and dive into projects, the result is the creation of some beautiful one-of-a-kind touches and I can’t wait to share my ideas with you!

ALEXANDRA EXNER
WEDDING COORDINATOR

Ever since my mom introduced me to Say Yes to the Dress on TLC, I fell in love with everything weddings. Not only have I picked my dream dress (or dresses), I have also planned and re-planned my non-existent wedding. With my name combining both Lex and Cassandra’s names, I knew I would fit in well with these wonderful ladies.

My journey with Old, New, Borrowed & Blue began when I was working as a server at Crave Kitchen + Wine Bar. I had plenty of experience working with customers and had been a part of my fair share of weddings to come through the event rooms of the restaurant. I enjoyed being attentive to the bride and groom and making sure everything looked perfect and ran smoothly for their big day. I came in contact with Lex and Cassandra and and began working with them in 2011 and have been assisting them as a wedding coordinator ever since. Once I completed by Business Administration degree in 2012, I was propelled into the working world working with clients in a well-known advertising agency. It was here that I gained further experience working with customers and clients.

I am looking forward to working with you on perfecting the details of your wedding day and help relieving the stress off of you so that you can savor every moment of your special day.

Alex has been with the Blue Team almost since inception! She joined us in 2011 when we were just getting our feet off the ground. She is a huge asset to our team and we are so lucky to have her working with us, and we’re sure you will feel the same way!
